My Step By Step Design Process (What It’s Like to Work Together)

A calm, collaborative process built for solopreneurs who care about beauty, strategy, and ease.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to work with a designer (especially someone who gets both the creative vision and the backend tech) let me give you a behind-the-scenes peek at how I support clients from first inquiry to launch day.

People often tell me, “Your business just feels so professional—and yet somehow still warm and personal.” That balance is something I’ve intentionally built into every step of my process. Because while I care deeply about thoughtful design, I care just as much about the experience you have along the way.

So here’s how it all works, in real-life, no-stress terms:

It All Starts With a Conversation

Once you submit the project application, I personally review it to get a sense of where you're at and what kind of support you’re looking for. If it seems like a fit, I’ll invite you to a free consultation call.

This isn’t a sales call. It’s a relaxed, low-pressure chat where we talk about your goals, get a feel for each other’s vibe, and decide whether it makes sense to move forward together. If it does? We’re off to the races.

Securing Your Spot

After our call, if you’re ready to move forward, I’ll send over your contract and invoice. Once that’s signed and paid, your project is officially on the books.

Now, here’s something I do a little differently: Instead of sending a big info dump all at once, I ease you into the process with a series of helpful pre-project emails. These walk you through what to expect, when things will happen, and what you’ll need to gather before we begin.

There’s no guesswork. You’ll know exactly what’s coming next.

Prepping for Your Project (The Cozy Way)

Between booking and your project start date, you’ll receive:

  • A project checklist to help you gather everything you’ll need

  • A client intake questionnaire so I can get to know your business and your vision on a deeper level

  • Access to your private client portal—our little virtual HQ where we’ll stay organized and in touch

This prep period is intentional. It gives you time to finalize things like your website copy, brand photos, or logins without the last-minute scramble. And if you’re feeling unsure about what’s “good enough” to submit? I’ll help you make confident decisions that move things forward.

When Design Day Arrives

Once your project officially begins, I dive right into designing inside your platform—no flat mockups or generic layouts here. I build directly where the magic happens, shaping your site or course in a way that flows, feels aligned, and makes sense for your audience.

Most projects are completed in about two weeks, though we’ll set expectations based on what you need. Once the first version is ready, I’ll send you a private walkthrough video so you can see the full picture. I’ll explain my decisions, show you how things work, and talk through what’s next.

The Revision Phase (No Stress Here)

After you’ve had a chance to sit with the design, you’ll have two rounds of revisions to give feedback, share your thoughts, and make sure everything feels just right.

This part isn’t rushed. It’s collaborative and thoughtful. My goal isn’t just to “get it done”—it’s to create something that genuinely feels like you.

Launch Time

Once you’ve signed off on the final design, we’ll move into launch mode. You’ll receive either a recorded tutorial or a live walkthrough call—whatever feels most helpful for you—to show you how to make simple updates and navigate your new setup with confidence.

Need ongoing help after the launch? I offer as-needed support so you’re never stuck if something unexpected pops up.

Then we celebrate. Your project is live. Your brand finally looks and feels like the professional, purpose-driven business it is. And you can move forward with clarity and confidence, knowing your online home is doing its job.
